Winds 2 is a special tribute to Dr. Frederick Fennell, live concert recordings of some of his most beloved wind band literature with Tokyo Kosei. Also, Dr. Fennell comments about the future, and the future of music, and is specially featured in selectable “conductor only” views.

Winds 3 “Harmony Training for the Ensemble,” presents expert advice on the fundamentals of tuning and blend, shows group techniques for recognizing and producing accurate harmony, and gives detailed information about the many useful functions of Yamaha’s “Harmony Director” tempered tuning keyboard. Presenters include composers Hiroshi Hoshina, and Yo Goto working with the Taravella High School Wind Orchestra, plus Toshiro Ozawa and the Kanagawa University Symphonic Band.

Winds 4 “Joy of the March,” features Dr. Fennell teaching the excitement of proper march performance to the Kofu Youth Wind Ensemble. "Our Director" (Bigelow) and "Col. Bogey" (Alford) are examined in detail by the Maestro, in a lively, humorous and animated presentation. Additional footage includes Fennell conducting "National Emblem", "Rolling Thunder", and "The U.S. Field Artillary March" with the Tokyo Kosei Wind Orchestra.

Winds 5 "Mastery Clinic for Clarinet," the first in our new series of Instrument Clinic DVDs features Hitoshi Sekiguchi, principal clarinetist of the Tokyo Kosei Wind Orchestra, as he performs for, and with you in duet form. Mr. Sekiguchi invites additional Kosei members to illustrate specific problems and solutions of intermediate and advanced performance as well as characteristics of the full clarinet family, from soprano to bass. Enclosures include duet sheet music, exercise samples and a self-evaluation form to guide student success in areas such as long tones, tone quality, use of upper register, adequete support, posture, chromatics, scales and alternate fingerings, tonguing, maintenance, etc. An ideal resource for home practice reinforcement and music programs not having a specialized clarinet coach.

Winds 6 "Building a Great Junior High Band" is an exciting and revealing breakthrough for educators interested in the formation, training and exposition of Japanese school band clubs. From the selection of instruments to their first performance at state festival in only four months, new members of the Neagari Junior High Symphonic Band are closely followed to show their method of rapid assimilation into this nationally recognized concert band. The "sempai/kohai" method of intense student leadership is detailed.
